BetUS Legal States: Where Can You Bet?

Betus Casino

If you look at the terms and conditions at BetUS, the only players excluded from joining the casino are those residing in Belgium, Costa Rica, Curacao, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Panama, the Philippines, the UK, and Ukraine. On all fronts, it looks like any U.S. player can join BetUS Casino and Sportsbook, but is that really true? Our guide to BetUS Legal States: Where Can You Bet? takes a closer look at the status of sportsbooks and online casinos in each state.

The Legalities of Sportsbetting in the U.S.

Since 2018, three dozen states have legalized sports betting either online or in a brick-and-mortar location. Mobile sportsbooks are legal in 26 states. Where is it legal and not legal?

  • Legal in Physical Locations - Delaware, Maryland, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington, and Wisconsin
  • Legal in Online Sportsbooks - Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming
  • Illegal - Alabama, Alaska, California, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Vermont
  • Pending Legislation - Maine, Massachusetts, and Nebraska

The remaining state, Florida, never legally allowed sports betting, but there was an agreement between the Seminole Tribe and the state to allow it. Since then, a federal judge ruled the agreement violated federal laws. For now, the legality of sports betting is being argued in appeals court.

Carefully Read the Terms and Conditions

Before you sign up and place bets at BetUS, make sure you read the rules. While you may be able to sign up, the sportsbook and casino does state that: "You must comply at all times with the laws in force in the country or jurisdiction where you are located and/or a resident." If you know it's not legal to bet on sports in your state, it's up to you to refrain from placing bets.

If you sign up anyway and win money, you will not be able to cash out your winnings. BetUS also makes it clear that violating the rules constitutes fraud and could lead to criminal penalties.
